What is a capacitive touch panel?

A capacitive touch panel senses your finger through changes in an electric field, using a grid of electrodes behind a glass or film surface. Because there is no membrane to flex and no opening to seal, the entire front of your product can be one flat, sealed, wipe-clean surface.

How it works

A transparent electrode grid creates a small electric field across the panel. Your finger disturbs that field when it touches the surface; the controller reads the change at each intersection and reports an exact X/Y position. Firmware maps those positions to buttons, sliders or gestures.

Yes, with the right controller tuning. We boost sensitivity for gloves up to about 5 mm thick and use water-rejection algorithms so droplets and film don't trigger false presses. We tune this against your actual environment during sampling.
Yes. Legends, logos and backlit icons print on a graphic layer behind the touch surface, giving you a flat, sealed front with no cutouts and no moving parts.
We ship the panel with controller firmware preloaded and an interface library for I2C/UART/USB. Button mapping, gestures and sensitivity can be tuned with us during sampling, and we document the register map for your firmware team.
