What is a silicone rubber keypad?

A silicone keypad is a single molded rubber mat carrying every key. Each key dome returns to its original shape after pressing, so the whole assembly needs no springs — and the rubber seals the electronics beneath.

How it works

Under each key, a conductive pill sits on the underside of the dome. Pressing the key pushes the pill onto a PCB contact pad or membrane circuit, closing the switch. Release and the silicone's natural elasticity snaps the key back.

It depends on keypad size and cavity count. Compression molds cost less upfront; injection molds pay off at higher volumes. We'll quote both options and show the break-even point.
Yes — this is one of our most common hybrid builds. The silicone keypad sits over a printed membrane circuit, giving you rubber-key feel with the sealed, low-profile construction of a membrane switch.
Laser engraving and two-shot molding are the most durable options — the legend is either burned into the surface or molded in as a second material, so it cannot wear away with use.
